.:Sonadow:.At the Olympics Ch1

"All aboard the bus everyone!" The bus driver announced to a group of competitors waiting eagerly outside in a single file line. A brisk mixture of snow and chilly winds whispered across the horizon, temporarily dropping the temperature enough to cause goosebumps on a few of the competitors.

Today marks the beginning of an important trip for the Mario and Sonic gang as they were invited to Vancouver for the reoccurring Olympic Games.  Everybody was excited to compete again this year, except for Shadow The Hedgehog, who felt obligated to attend due to conflicting interests.
The dark hedgehog stood behind the crowd, arms crossed with an unamused expression plastered on his face.

'I can't believe SEGA is making me do this again.....' He scoffed.

The bus driver pulled down a lever to open the revolving doors on his right, and everybody quickly entered the bus as they were conversing about the big event that was to come. Sonic stayed behind to organize his backpack, making sure he had everything he needed for the upcoming road trip. Shadow remained stationary, his air shoes digging into the white sheet of snow below and the snowflakes falling from the sky began to accumulate on his fur. The feeling of dread took over as he looked at the bus full of enthusiastic people.

"How pathetic. They get excited for the stupidest things" He murmured to himself.

The blue hero looked back at the somber companion and gave him a warm smile.

"Shadow, you coming in the bus?"

Shadow walks up to the rodent with each step piercing into the snow until they are a few feet apart.

"Why would I want to go in a bus full of idiots?" Shadow pouts and places one hand on his hip.

Sonic became slightly irritated with Shadow’s hostile behavior and rolled his eyes at the ultimate lifeform. He zipped his backpack shut and wrapped it around his back, putting on the sleeves one at a time so that it hugs his shoulders.

"Fine then, you can freeze."

Shadow let out a deep sigh. "I already did that for 50 years...I suppose I have no choice than to play along."

The dark hedgehog lumbered his way towards the bus. He stopped at the midway point as he felt a pair of eyes piercing him like a dagger, enough to make the fur on his back stand up. Shadow looked back at Sonic who hadn’t moved an inch.

"What the hell are you looking at?" Shadow grunted at the blue hedgehog, who seemed to be deep into thought.

"Curious." Sonic closed his right eyelid and formed a smirk, trying to instigate further,  “Why bother coming if this is such a nuisance? This isn’t mandatory, ya know.”  

Shadow ignored his nonsensical question and continued pacing towards the bus.

Sonic began to trail behind his rival. As Shadow finally enters the bus, the bus driver slightly bows his head and tips his hat to greet him. The group stop their chattering amongst themselves to turn their attention to the ultimate life form who comes into view. All eyes were on him, making him slightly nervous, however, he examined the bus thoroughly to look for an available spot. He locked his eyes on an empty row on the left side towards the back and he began to maneuver his way through the middle aisle.

Whispers filled the air as the group conversed amongst each other. Sitting in the middle right row was Princess Peach, who leaned into her friend Daisy and formed a c with her hand to initiate a whisper in her ear.

‘He's so hot, anybody would be lucky enough to be with him. Oh Gosh, I could never tell Mario about this’

Daisy giggled and nodded in agreement.

Shadow’s left ear perked as he overheard their conversation in passing. His face transfigured a smug look in disbelief.

'Tsk. How desperate can you be?' He thought to himself.

Sonic soon entered the bus, and received a much friendlier reception than his rival.
"SONIC! SONIC! SIT WITH ME!" Amy shouted and waved her hand in the air to catch the attention of the blue blur. She scooted to the left to reveal the empty space beside her and tapped on the seat a few times.

Right behind the pink hedgehog was a plumber with a green hat and with a slightly slimmer physique than his counterpart.

"No! Sonic sit-a with us!" Luigi hollered with a deep rooted Italian accent. His partner Mario was sitting right next to him with his arms crossed, paying no attention to the commotion.

Sonic waved at the entourage in slight embarrassment. His eyes wandered the bus, looking for a specific person to sit next to. The blue hero’s gaze then locks on the ultimate lifeform and notices the empty seat next to him. Shadow’s attention was focused outside the window as he tried his best to escape the noise. Sonic smiled and slightly nodded as he maneuvered his way next to his seat.

"Hey Shadow, mind if I sit here?" Sonic points to the empty seat next to him.

Shadow purposely ignored the blue hedgehog, hoping he’d get the message.

Sonic sat down anyway taking his silence as a sign of approval. He positioned his backpack between his legs to better fit into his spot.

"Thanks Shadow." He raises his hand, giving him a thumbs up.

"Hmph." Shadow grunted, still fixated on the window.

Amy sighed in disappointment as her blue Romeo decided to sit elsewhere. "He could have been sitting with me..." she muttered to herself.

“Everybody quiet down!" The bus driver yelled at the group.

The whole bus instantly became mute to listen to the announcement that was to come.
"Now in a few moments we're gonna head to Vancouver. Is anybody missing anything or are we missing anybody?" The bus driver asked while he fastens his seat belt.

'What is this? Kindergarten?’ Shadow grew slightly impatient with the unnecessary delay.

A collective "No" came from the competitors.

"Well then, let's hit the road everybody!" The bus driver declared as he started the ignition. The revving engine roars as the driver presses his foot on the gas pedal. With that, the bus begins to move, prompting an applause from the group.

"OFF TO VANCOUVER!" Knuckles chanted from the top of his lungs, raising a fist in the air.

On the back of the bus, Sonic studied Shadow, trying to figure out a way to converse with him.

Sonic crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow ‘I wonder…what’s so damn interesting about a window that he can’t even try to look in my direction.'.

Shadow’s eyes fixated on Sonic's reflection through the window and noticed the blue hero staring at him. He firmly believed Sonic was doing this to provoke him or to pry into his personal space for his own amusement. In a sudden burst of frustration, the dark hedgehog lightly kicked the speedster's right foot.

"Stop staring at me. I can see your reflection."

Sonic disregarded Shadow’s slight plea of privacy to continue the conversation.

"So Shadow...excited about Vancouver?"

Shadow turned a deaf ear to the hedgehog once more.

"You can’t stay quiet forever, Shadow. I need to converse with someone. Being the fastest thing alive, my patience tends to run thin when it comes to vehicles.” Sonic sighed as he wrapped his arms behind his head, forcing him to lean back into the seat for support.

"Amy’s seat is available. I’m sure she would enjoy the company” Shadow replied.

Sonic was persistent to make his rival open up to him. He thought of a different approach on how to make Shadow engage in conversation.

"So Shad- WOAH!“ Sonic yelped as his body flew into the air due to the tires running over a huge pothole on the road. The whole bus of people flew out of their seats and landed hard into their spots, causing a commotion.

Cream The Rabbit jumped in excitement  "That was fun!" She gleefully expressed.

Sonic landed on something soft, thinking he may have shifted a couple feet apart from his seat. When he opened his eyes, Sonic began to feel flustered when he noticed that he had landed on the ultimate lifeform’s laps. Shadow, feeling the impact on his legs, turns to face the blue hero, and a red tint begins to appear on his muzzle.

The hedgehog wastes no time getting off his lap, and turns away in embarrassment.

"Uh s-sorry....Shadow." He stuttered.

"It's ok..." Shadow whispers, internally fighting off the humiliation of the situation.

From afar, Amy Rose had turned her head to make sure that her true love had fallen safely into his chair. To her surprise, she noticed Sonic landing on Shadow’s lap and couldn’t wrap her head against what she had just witnessed. It had to be her sharing an intimate moment with Sonic, nobody else can. “NO FAIR! I SHOULD BE THE ONE LANDING ON SONIC!" Amy blurted out pounding a fist in her seat.

Shadow had a perplexed expression on his face, not grasping the reason why his pink acquaintance was pouting over a mere accident.

Sonic scoffed and face palmed himself. 'Not now, Amy.'
